Playing cards have a fascinating history, imbued with incredible symbolism and beautiful designs. Cards are deeper than simple paper or plastic squares – they have meaning, symbolism, and an inherent artfulness that we love.

Playing cards originated centuries ago, back in ancient China and spread to the Islamic world and Europe from there. People have been using these small, versatile pieces of art and design to play games and tell fortunes for over 1,000 years. However, it was when playing cards made their way to Europe in the 14th century that they started to take on different forms and personalities. In Italy, they featured suits of swords, cups, coins, and batons, while in France, they evolved into the iconic hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs that we know and love. And in England, the court cards were given names and personalities based on real historical figures and legends.

These nifty earrings were cast from Victorian cufflinks. Because when we see a good design, we need to play with it and find even more excellent ways to make it into dope adornment. Plus if we can add a chocolate diamond or two, we’ll be over the moon. These earrings are so cool, holding a whole world of history—subtly, flawlessly.
