Diamonds come in many beautiful colors. We adore the warm tones of fancy brown diamonds, especially this dark orange variety, with her enchanting honey glow. 

Orange is a confident color; it stands out. From powerful, bright branding to the existential wonder of a winter sunset, it is a color with dexterity and presence. Famed artist Wassily Kandinsky described orange as “red brought nearer to humanity by yellow.” But it’s not just a plain old red and yellow party. Color theory says that orange and brown are analogous colors, meaning that they are near each other on the color wheel. Blending these colors creates a warm and vibrant palette, evoking feelings of comfort and contentment. Nature loves to play with colors that have a symbiotic aesthetic relationship. 

The reason why some diamonds possess a pretty orange-brown tone is due to the presence of nitrogen, which is one of the more common chemical elements that affects the color of diamonds. Nitrogen absorbs blue light and, since blue is the opposite of orange, it reflects back that orange hue that hits our eyes.
