The world is made of shapes. Some are rigid and logical, while others are flowing and organic. Shapes remind us of childhood—learning the names of each shape, selecting our favorite shape.

Shapes also remind us to be present. What a beautiful thing to notice the form and structure of our surroundings. To observe the design of the objects in our lives. To bear witness to nature's stunning creations.

Among the world's most perfect shapes is the hexagon. Even the word is sexy. But the ubiquity and utility of this six-sided marvel is even sexier.

Hexagons are the most incredible marriage of beauty and efficiency. Mathematicians love hexagons due to their undeniable efficiency. They fit together without any gaps and can bear the most pressure with the least amount of material. There is no wasted space. The hexagon is one of the most commonly occurring shapes in nature. Think of a honeycomb, the eyes of a fly, or the tiny structure of a snowflake. Even the molecular structure of carbon is hexagonal.

Our love of hexagons is coded into our very essence, as the chemical bonds on DNA take a hexagonal form. But it's not just our planet where hexagons pop up. Saturn has a cloud formation over its North Pole that invariably takes the shape of a hexagon. Scientists do not know why but leading theories revolve around atmospheric flows.

Our newest collection is inspired by the hexagon. Immersing in this shape unlocked creativity and experimentation. This pendant is a longer than usual, as it follows the contours of an elongated cushion cut diamond. Clocking in at .55ct and graded H SI1, it’s a cushion cut in all it’s glory wrapped in a bed of 22K gold. Cushion cuts, also known as pillow cuts, were the the most popular diamond shape for centuries starting in the 1700s and extending throughout the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras. They were popular because they were durable, versatile, and brilliant. That sparkle and shine makes this an amazing everyday pendant that can layer well or stand alone as an elegant signature piece.
