The old mine cut was a prevalent cut in the 1800’s and developed during the Industrial Revolution. During this period in history, diamond faceting techniques were rapidly developing, catapulting the jewelry industry into sudden innovation. While each of these diamonds were still cut by hand, the advancements in production can be proven in the amount of brilliance and sparkle in diamonds that had previously never been seen. They were new, exciting, and incredibly beautiful in the flickering candlelight of the Victorian Era.

Nineteen chunky old mine cut diamonds are housed in this 19th century navette ring. The elegant shape of the face naturally elongates the finger. Each stone has their own proportions- a unique trait of antique stones- which make this ring endlessly intriguing. We think this ring is a perfect specimen to showcase just what old mine cut diamonds can do, centuries after they were first fashioned.
