Baby, we can see your Halo…..
The illustrious Opal; a stone so magnificent and mystical that the it has been dubbed the “Queen of Gems” and with this diamond studded entourage it’s easy to see why. Opal, stems from the Latin word opalus but also associated with the Sanskrit word upala, meaning “precious stone”. In the Middle Ages, it came to be known as ophthalmos, meaning “the eye stone”, believed to induce heightened powers of foresight, intuition, examination, and transformation.
There are several kinds of Opal, but this particular beauty is of the “Rainbow Opal” type and, as it is only mined in a select few places around the world. The Opal stone captured the heart of the Roman historian, Pliny the Elder, and he described the gem as capturing the spectacular colors of the Garnet, the Amethyst, and the Emerald all in one rainbow show. The Opal has carried with it many stories and legends throughout history, some of a darker nature during the 16th and 17th centuries, but rebounded in the Victorian Era symbolizing loyalty, faithfulness, and protection. Combining a beautiful Opal with a halo squad of diamonds, and exquisite French craftsmanship, we would love to introduce a ring with so much character, power, and beauty that she needed a name; The Elise.
The Elise’s strong connotations to happiness, purity, light and protection have us believing that this ring is the perfect way to put that heavenly halo right around your finger.
