During Medieval Times, aquamarine had a unique power. People would wrap it in string and hang it above a bowl of water. The bowl would have each letter of the alphabet carved along the inside. Legend has it, the aquamarine would sway back and forth, lightly touching one letter at a time, spelling out the answer to an earnest question.

When we happened upon this rare antique memorial ring, we were reminded of the magical properties of aquamarine. This especially icy aquamarine, housed in an octagon setting pulling a clear pale blue color, is just waiting to reveal its secrets. The buttery 18k yellow gold band is equally as beautiful, created during the Rococo phase of the Georgian Era, with classic motifs such as flowing lines and ornamental designs inspiring movement, not unlike another common material used in jewelry of the time- ribbon. The scrolling and natural feel of the band has perfect juxtaposition to the structural cut of the aquamarine. These thoughtful details are combined with the loving sentiment of memorial jewelry, in one stunning piece.
