The sacred beetle of Egypt, the Scarab has been revered as a testament to the sun god Ra and his journey across the sky. These little guys were held with such importance that the Pharaohs would have Scarabs carved with commemorative events on their bellies and sent out to other dignitaries and pharaohs as a sign of respect and brotherhood.

An Egyptian revival in the Victorian Era sparked a rebirth of appreciation for Scarabs and soon they were seen adorning every hat, dress and cravat in town.

After centuries these beetles still evoke a sense of romance and mystery.
