Green with envy? Well you should be, because this stone packs some pretty special meaning in those grassy facets.

First found on a teeny little island off of Egypt, Peridot was revered as a friendship stone and held the promise of spring. (really, how could you not think of springtime just looking at it?) Apparently, this stone charmed the pants off of Napoleon on his adventure there and he brought loads of it back to Europe with him. He immediately had a ring made for his beloved Josephine and declared that it symbolized her adoring and gentle nature.

Peridot not only is a friendship stone, it is also associated with the Heart Chakra and people of elevated consciousness and purity of mind. And if those weren't all good enough reasons, Peridot is also the birthstone for our August babies out there!
