What You Should Know: Face of ring originated as a Victorian brooch. Shank was cast from a victorian band.

Quite possibly our most favorite ring ever, we are excited to debut our Sunrise Ring. Converted into a ring from a Georgian brooch, this stunning piece is one for the books. One of the things that makes this ring so special, besides being the only one of its kind, and being incredibly sparkly, are the diamonds themselves. Comprised of hybrid cushion and step cuts, this ring is not only beautiful, but has some quite rare cut diamonds.

Cushion cut stones made an appearance in the 19th century and quickly became the most popular choice of that time. Recognized for the shape, a square with soft rounded corners, and their unique brilliance, you can easily see why they were so loved in that era by looking at this ring. Back in the day that these diamonds were cut, it was exclusively done by hand, and is considered a “hybrid” because it does not match the current facet ratio standards set in the 1920s. You definitely cannot find any stone exactly like the cushion cuts in this magnificent ring.

Accenting the cushion cuts, are some antique step cuts, that only add to the beauty of the entire piece. Step cuts have facets set into parallel rows, mimicking a mirrored staircase, and have very particular light reflection. The combination of hybrid cushion cuts and step cuts, give this ring some seriously fun and dynamic movement. A perfect example of why we love vintage pieces.
