Popular in Ancient Egypt, it is believed that the Scarab beetle was a symbol of transformation, renewal, and resurrection. According to The Book of The Dead, The Egyptians would place a scarab on the heart of the deceased once mummified with a spell which entreated the heart to, "do not stand as a witness against me." During the Victorian era the scarab became extremely popular in jewelry, and was used as a symbol of good luck and prosperity. The Gold Scarab ring is carved from jade, set in 14K gold, and a size 6.5.
