While you won't find these wrapped around your Dads cigars (but if you do, Jackpot), these beautiful bands closely resemble the paper bands that we associate with fine cigars.

Cigar bands are thought to have been inspired by the sexy and scandalous Catherine the Great of Russia, who started wrapping her cigars in silk to prevent them from staining her fingers. This made everyone else hyper aware of stained fingers and kicked off a trend of elaborate gold foiled wrappings for their cigars.

Not only was this Queen a cigar smoker, she also was a writer (often corresponding with Voltaire) she was a patron of the arts, cunning in warfare, and even rode her horses astride in mens pants much to the absolute horror of the community.

We sure do love a trail blazing, trouble making, savvy woman. This one's for you, and you know who you are.
