We love sitting around and imagining up what engravings on vintage rings meant to its original owners. There’s something so mysteriously magical in an inscription that just two people share, a tiny secret message of love that never fades over time, as permanent as could be.

This 22k Victorian wedding band is engraved with the letters NMOVMM, which we could guess at for the rest of our lives probably. It also reads “August 25th 1869”, which is a little easier to decipher. Whoever this ring belonged to assumingly wed their betrothed on a Wednesday when a solar eclipse occurred. That was probably a coincidence, but isn’t that just something! The union of their love even blinded the sun.

We think this would be the perfect ring to adopt as your own wedding band. The notion that this beauty has represented an unbreakable bond for what could be generations of lovers has really pulled at our heart strings.
