It's 1300 AD, and a proud but homeless band of Mexica people were searching for their new home. Having been cast out of other tribes and countries, this relentless group believed wholeheartedly that their god, Huitzilopochtli (bless you!) would lead them to their empire. They looked for the sign of an eagle sitting upon a prickly pear cactus with a snake in its mouth.

Well....their sign came. In the form of an island in the middle of a hazardous swamp.

NEVER discouraged, this crew invented a system of creating little tiny islands and gardens that would dry out the main land so that they could build. In 1325, their city of Tenochtitlan emerged as one of the strongest and most powerful cities in the Aztec empire.
