Amethyst was created straight out of a Greek tragedy. Dionysus, the infamous God of wine, was intoxicated and stumbled upon a mortal, Amethyste, and desired her affection. Not consenting to that, Amethyste cried out to the goddess Diana for protection. Diana instantly turned her into a pure white stone, saving her from Dionysus’s ill intentions. When Dionysus witnessed what had happened to sweet Amethyste, he wept into his goblet full of wine causing it to overspill. The deep red elixir poured over the new clear stone, staining it a beautiful shade of purple. He named the stone in her honor, Amethyst.

Since the induction of this legend, the Greeks associated the stone Amethyst with making righteous decisions, instilling a serious mind, and and quicken intelligence. These metaphysical properties combined with the intense beauty of this amethyst ring result in an undeniably amazing piece. This ring was crafted during the Georgian Era, making it two centuries old, and is in the classic style of this period. A soft rectangular amethyst pulling a vibrant lavender is surrounding by a halo of antique cut mine diamonds. The stacked band tapers towards the back providing comfort and curiosity. We adore this ring for its feminine color and maybe a little of the sensibility the amethyst provides.
