*This Ring Can Be Resized

In 75 AD, the Roman scholar Pliny found himself quite enthralled with opals. He compared them to the richest colors of paint, with the intensity and playfulness of fire. But he said one thing while describing opals that we think really nailed it- “Made up of the glories of the most precious gems, to describe them is a matter of inexpressible difficulty. For there is amongst them the gentler fire of the ruby, there is the rich purple of the amethyst, there is the sea-green of the emerald, and all shining together in an indescribable union.” One gemstone to rule them all? Could he have been describing this specific opal in our hands?

A super fiery navette shaped opal is incredibly eye catching in this Art Nouveau ring. Pulling shades of blue, green, and pink while sparkling in the sunlight, this beauty has the subtle colorfulness of opals that we’ve grown increasingly fond of. The Art Nouveau Era was full of whimsy, curvilinear shapes, and unapologetic feminine beauty and this ring slides right into that era, yet somehow feels just as modern and beautiful today. Cherry on top- the two old cut white diamonds that punctuate each end of the marquise shaped opal, not to mention the structural gold setting and shank making this ring an antique piece of art. A kaleidoscope for your finger.
