*This Ring Cannot Be Resized.

Sapphires have long been held in high regard since ancient times. There’s a Persian legend that says the world sits upon a pedestal made up of an enormous sapphire. The beautiful blue color of the sky is actually just a reflection of the deep hues of the gem, and the sapphires we find here on earth a broken peices of the pedestal we sit upon. The ancient Greeks would bring sapphires to the Oracle at Apollo’s temple. They believed the sapphires would quiet and clear their minds and they could better understand the answers the gods were giving them. A very old Hindu story tells the tale of the Kalpavriksha. The Kalpavriksha was an ancient tree that would grant wishes to the pure of heart. Its trunk was made of diamonds, while its roots were made of sapphires. We would wish for the diamonds and sapphires.

As if from the mythological heavens of ancient Greece or plucked from the same ground Kalpavriksha was planted, this Art Deco beauty features some stunning deep blue sapphires. Pairs of calibre cut sapphires are dotted around the band, separated by luminous white diamonds. The diamonds and sapphires are channel set in platinum, the premier metal for jewelry at the time. This style of ring was incredibly popular in the 1920’s. Every designer of the Art Deco period took advantage of the love of channel set precious gems in a simple band, notably Cartier and Tiffany & Co, and this is one of the most pristine examples that have survived the last century. Beautiful stones creating a masterpiece of a ring.
